12 Family-Friendly 4th of July Celebrations

The 4th of July is summer’s biggest celebration, complete with festivals, food, fanfare and, of course, fireworks! All across Southwest Ohio, there are celebrations big and small in honor of our great county.

Here are 12 Family-Friendly 4th of July Celebrations:

LaRosa’s Balloon Glow

July 3 from 10am -10:15pm at Coney Island
Delight as blues, greens and yellows fill the air and kids jump and shout, “look there in the sky”! Get up close with more than a dozen, dazzling hot-air balloons lighting up against the night sky followed by a spectacular fireworks grand finale. Enjoy all of Coney Island’s favorites like Sunlite Pool, Cannonball Cove, and Twister; plus the new inflatable obstacle course, the Challenge Zone!

Freedom Fest

July 2 and 3
New Richmond Ohio’s “Freedom Fest” presented by Humana and VFW Fred Calaway Post 6770. All of the events are family friendly and will be spread out over a day and a half.

Fort Thomas Independence Day Celebration

July 4 from 10:30am to 10:30pm
Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Highlands High School and ends at Tower Park. The Festival at Tower park features games, rides and food with fireworks at 10 p.m.

Blanchester 4th of July Festival

July 3 and 4 in Downtown Blanchester
The Fourth of July Festival is back on! The parade, pie eating contest, rides, food, live music and fun for the entire family! More details to come!

Independence Day Cruise

July 3 from 6:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Celebrate our nation’s birthday with a good old-fashioned, All-American picnic as you cruise to Coney Island. Upon arrival, a host of holiday festivities await at Larosa’s Balloon Glow featuring over 30 hot and cold air balloons, live entertainment and a spectacular grand finale fireworks display! Families may take advantage of Coney’s rides and attractions at an additional cost.

City of Montgomery 4th of July Parade and Festival

July 4 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (Parade starts at 10 a.m.)
Food, Entertainment, and Family Fun! Live band featuring Eden, food vendors, magic shows, crafts, scavenger hunt and an All-Star baseball game.

Red, White and BOOM

July 4 from 8-10 pm at Riverbend
Come together and celebrate America’s birthday from sea to shining sea. Join JMR and the Pops for a showcase of American favorites inspired by the beauty of this land and its peoples. This is America the Beautiful for all—with music to lift your spirit and set your heart aglow. Stick around for the post-concert fireworks! Free lawn ticket for kids 17 and under.

Harrison Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks

July 4 at 4p in Historic Downtown Harrison
The Harrison Recreation Commission has planned an evening of fun including a parade, fireworks, live music and other entertainment. Food, drinks and adult beverages will be available for purchase. There will be free family activities including a cornhole tournament, face painting and more. Please use the link for an application to participate in the parade.

Stricker’s Grove 4th of July Fireworks

July 4 from 2-11 pm
Sticker’s Grove 4th of July event is its most popular open to the public days. Enjoy rides, food, friends and family and cap the day off with fireworks! Admission to the park is free. If your party would like to ride rides we have a couple options. Purchase individual tickets or an arm band for unlimited riding.

Red, White and Blue Ash 2023

July 4 at Summit Park from 4p-10:30p
Head to Summit Park on July 4th for family-fun festival rides, local food vendors, and an amazing firework show! FREE. This festival is going to feature multi-platinum artist Gavin DeGraw as the headliner at 8:15pm!

Northside Fourth of July Parade

July 4 in Downtown Northside starting at 12 pm
A free, music-filled festival in the Heart of Northside with the most colorful parade in town!

Cincinnati Reds vs. Padres

July 2 at Great American Ballpark at 1:40p
Head to Great American, Sundays are family days at the ballpark! Enjoy a special ticket offer, giveaways for kids and more. Some restrictions apply. Available in advance of game day only. Tickets available at reds.com/Family.
