Summer Camps are filled with high energy, structured activities for your kids and incorporate open play, organized games, arts, Ninja, and sooo much fun! Every week there is one special event such as an animal encounter, Kona Ice, and more!

What makes Ohio Sports Academy unique?

Ohio Sports Academy Summer Camps include unique activities such as fun on trampolines, rope swings, ninja course and every kids favorite: a FOAM PIT!!!! We also have a maker space, do team building actives, and fun themed activities. Our camps have daily themes that allow your kids to have a different experience at every camp! Low camper to staff ratios where the staff know your child’s name!

What activities are offered at Ohio Sports Academy?

Ohio Sports Academy Summer Camps offer a variety of activities including, arts and crafts, outside play, ninja zone, themed organized games, trampolines, foam pits and special events! Our special events will happen once a week and will include animal visitors from the Newport Aquarium, Kona Ice, and a visit from our local police and fire departments!

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

Ohio Sports Academy Summer Camps have a low camper to counselor ratio of 10:1. Campers spend the day with the same group and counselor.

How much time do the campers spend outside?

Weather permitting campers will spend up to 1.5 hours outside depending on the exact events planned that day. All campers will spend 30 minutes outside eating lunch and at least 30 minutes playing outside! Lunch will typically happen in a shaded area.

Does the camp provide lunch/snacks or do parents need to provide them?

Parents will need to provide a packed lunch, snacks, and also a water bottle for their camper. We do have vending machines in our facility that the campers can purchase snacks from.

What is the typical daily schedule for campers?

Campers will arrive at 8:00am and get into their groups for the day. At 8:15am our campers will begin their day at one of their rotations. Every 30 minutes our campers switch between all of our rotations including: our Ninja zone, trampolines, craft area, outside, foam pit area, two game areas, and . Between 11:00am – 12:00pm campers will take turns having lunch and then will go right back into playing! At 3:00pm our campers will pack up their belongings and meet their parents outside for sign out. Our 5:30pm campers will then eat their snacks and go back inside for another 2 hours of play before pick – up!

How old are the counselors and how are they trained?

Our counselors are all 17+ and current coaches or staff members at our gym and/or are education majors. All adults who work at our facility are background checked and safety certified before they are allowed to be with any children. After that, our counselors go through multiple courses and tests, train with experienced counselors at our other events, and go through summer camp specific meetings and trainings to make sure they are equipped with the skills and tools needed to make sure all campers are safe and have fun!

What accommodations are made for campers with special needs?

Campers with special needs are allowed to have an aid with them. The aid will need to sign our electronic waiver.

Do campers need to have masks on?

Masks are not required for children at summer camps, however they are allowed to wear them if they would like.

Are there any discounts?

Yes! The first full week of camp is full price. After that every week long camp is discounted by 10%. Drop in and daily camps will not have any discount.

When will daily drop in camps be available?

About 1 month before the camps start we will open up daily options.

What about COVID?

As always we make sure that the gym is cleaned and ready for the campers. If you sign up for a summer camp and your child catches COVID we will allow a reschedule upon presentation of a positive test result. If Ohio Sports Academy is closed due to a state or federal mandate you will be refunded or given an opportunity to reschedule your camp to another date.

What is OSA’s definition of potty trained?

A child is potty trained when they are able to go to the bathroom unaccompanied, clean themselves, flush, and wash their hands with out help.

Does my child already have to be a member at the gym?

No! It does not matter to us if you are a member or not. Anyone can come and do camps at OSA. We do have a yearly registration fee of less than $30 per child that will be billed upon enrollment to reserve your spot.
