The warm weather’s sticking around a bit longer, and this weekend is looking to be a pretty perfect time to get out and explore the city. And there’s a lot happening, too, from HallZOOween to the Cincinnati Museum Center’s Maker Faire to the circus and a famous author visit! HallZooween
Weekends through Oct. 29 at the Cincinnati Zoo
Little ghouls and boys can enjoy FOUR spooktacular weekends of fun at the Cincinnati Zoo. HallZOOween is FREE with Zoo Admission! Help the Zoo ‘Go Green’ by bringing your own treat bag! Kids are encouraged to wear a costume during HallZOOween, but it is not required.
Re(New)ed Celebration: Music Hall and More!
Oct. 7 at various locations downtown
A free community celebration of the reopening of Music Hall and other new and restored cultural facilities. This free community event includes tours and interactive performances of the state-of-the-art, iconic performance hall. All-new Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati will be open, offering free tours, and the Taft Museum of Art, Cincinnati Art Museum, and Contemporary Arts Center will celebrate with free admission!
Families Create! Funky Fun
Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Weston Gallery
Learn how Tracy Featherstone and fellow UnFunction exhibition artists find inspiration from everyday objects. Then, get your groove on to craft a funky creation of your own. All workshops are $5 per child and conducted at the Weston Art Gallery in the Aronoff Center for the Arts. Pre-registration is required.
Story Time + Meet the Author: “After the Fall” with Dan Santat!
Oct. 8 at 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Brazee Street Studios
Join us for a very special Story Time event! Brazee has teamed up with our friends down the street at Blue Manatee Children’s Book Store to bring you a Story Time like no other. {Story time at 1:30 is free with purchase of After the Fall from Blue Manatee!}
Cincinnati Maker Faire
Oct. 7 and 8 at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds
The Cincinnati Museum Center’s has become one of the region’s most creative  events, bringing together engineers, inventors, artists, artisans, brewers, crafters, musicians, robotic enthusiasts and many more. Tickets are free for Museum Center Members.
Second Sunday Family Showtime: My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus
Oct. 8 from 2-4 p.m. at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center
Run away to the circus without leaving home! My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus presents a fun afternoon of clown antics and circus skills sure to amaze. Show is about 50 minutes long and is free for kids and $5 for adults.
Stricker’s Grove Customer Appreciation Day
Oct. 8 from 1-8 p.m. (closed 4-5 p.m. for employee dinner)
Don’t miss the final day of the season! Cost is $12.50 per person (kids 2 and under are free) and includes: all rides, roller coasters, parking, soft drinks, cotton candy, popcorn and sno kones.
