10 Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day in Cincinnati

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 17 – and there are lots of family friendly ways to celebrate Dad. From festivals and crafts to high-flying exhibits and 155-foot-tall attractions, make this Father’s Day one to remember.

Here are 10 Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day in Cincinnati:

Mission Aerospace at the Cincinnati Museum Center

If Dad dreamed of being a pilot or astronaut as a kid, then you must take him to this new exhibit at the Cincinnati Museum Center. Have Dad build paper airplanes, launch paper rockets and pilot a World War I-era biplane in Ace Academy. And be sure to check out Aviation Adventures this Saturday, June 9, where Dad can meet a real, live pilot and indulge his childhood aviation dreams!

The Wheel at Coney Island

It doesn’t get more “summer” than Coney Island – and The Wheel is an attraction you must experience in person! Take Dad 155 feet into the air and enjoy a 360-degree view, overlooking everything from the Ohio River, the beautiful surrounding foliage, a once-in-a-lifetime view of Sunlite Water Adventure, and more! Rides are $5/person and $2.50 for passholders.

CFTA Street Food Festival

Feed the ‘dad bod’ at this fun foodie festival! Head to Summit Park on Friday, June 15th from 11 am to 10 pm.

Blooms & Berries

Does Dad have a green thumb? Then take him to the Garden Center at Blooms & Berries! Peruse the picturesque aisles of blooms, pollinators and plants, then have the kids make him a Container Garden at the Family Potting Bench. Afterwards, let the kids play in the Play Area while you sit on the porch and relax.

Reds Threads

The Reds may be “away” for Father’s Day Weekend, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy America’s Favorite Pastime with Dad! Head to the Hall of Fame and Museum to take in Reds Threads, a celebration of iconic Reds uniforms from decades past.

Butterflies of Madagascar

Father’s Day weekend is the final hurrah for Krohn’s beloved Butterfly Show, so be sure to catch it before June 17! (Check out our review of this must-see show here, and get a $1 off coupon here.)

Father/Child Classic at Winton Woods

If Dad’s idea of a perfect afternoon includes golf, then sign him and the kids up for the Father/Child Classic at Winton Woods! This event happens June 16 at 8 am and registration is just $35/child-parent team.

Puzzles with Pa

Does Dad enjoy solving the Sunday crossword or cracking a Rubik’s Cube? Then take him to Blue Manatee on June 17 between 1:30 and 2:30 to create a custom puzzle for Father’s Day! They’ll have all the materials you’ll need to make a 36-piece puzzle. Cost is $5 per puzzle; pre-register online or drop in while supplies last!

Pop-Up Play at Washington Park

Need a last-minute gift for Dad? Have the kids create a one-of-a-kind tie with the help of Happen, Inc! Head to Washington Park on June 17 from 3-4:30 pm for Pop-Up Play, a FREE event that’s perfect for creative kids ages 6-10.

2018 Fatherhood Community Celebration

For a fun festival, you can’t beat the Fatherhood Community Celebration on June 17 at Sawyer Point. Each Father’s Day, Talbert House hosts this FREE event for dads and families to enjoy a day of games and entertainment, arts and crafts, food and beverages, live music, sports activities and more. Talbert House is one of the city’s leading advocates for promoting fatherhood, and this festival really celebrates Dads and everything they do.
