This weekend features some of the best festivals and events of the summer, including (shameless plug alert!) Cincinnati Parent’s very own KidsFEST at Coney Island!
From the Hamilton County Fair to 1940’s Day at Lunken Airport, here are our 5 can’t-miss Cincinnati summer events this weekend:
Hamilton County Fair
Wed., Aug. 10-Sun., Aug. 14
The Ohio State Fair is fab, but here in Cincinnati, the Hamilton County Fair is king! Featuring pig racing, Home Depot kids’ interactive programs, a farm animal petting farm, livestock and poultry displays, blacksmith demonstration, remote control car racing and a wood carving display, this local fair is a summer must for families!
Cincinnati Museum Center’s 1940’s Day at Lunken Airport
Sat., Aug. 13
This day-long festival promises to be a jumpin’ and jivin’ good time! Featuring dancing, music, kid friendly activities and more, 1940’s Day celebrates all things retro at one of Cincinnati’s most iconic locations. Plus — admission is free for Museum members! Get more details in this week’s Online Spotlight.
Seussical Jr.
Sat., Aug. 13 at the Aronoff Center
“I meant what I said and I said what I meant, an elephant’s faithful, one hundred percent!” Don’t miss as Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your kid’s favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical Jr. You only have one chance to catch this show in Cincy — so don’t miss it!
Flying Circus Air Show
Sat., Aug. 13-Sun., Aug. 14 at Butler County Airport
It’s the region’s largest model air show! Head to Butler County Airport for this free flying festival (parking is $10). There will be lots of fun exhibits, interactive demonstrations and even plane rides!
