5 Reasons You Need to Check Out HallZOOween

The Cincinnati Zoo is always a good idea, but the Zoo is particularly boo-tiful in the fall. The colors, the cooler temps and active animals all make for a fun fall destination. Add Halloween fun to the mix, and it’s magic!

HallZOOween, presented by Frisch’s Big Boy, happens Saturdays and Sundays starting October 14th through October 29th from 12-5 pm. Each weekend, treat stations will be set up throughout the Zoo (BYOB to help the #GreenestZooinAmerica stay green), along with not-so-spooky animal encounters, Hogwarts Express train rides and opportunities to spin on the Scare-ousel. Sound like fun?

Here are 5 reasons you need to check out HallZOOween:

1. HallZOOween is free for members and included with Zoo admission.

This event is included with Zoo Admission, and the perfect excuse to renew your Zoo membership! (Don’t have a membership? Consider joining — it’s a wonderful deal and a gift that the whole family can enjoy all year long!)

2. There are fun photo ops and trick-or-treat stations everywhere you turn.

The Cincinnati Zoo is one of the most family-friendly attractions in the city. Dressing your kiddos up to go trick-or-treating at the Zoo makes the whole experience even more fun! Tag your pics #HallZOOween and the Zoo might share!

3. You’ll see your favorite hippo bloat!

Once temps retreat below 50 degrees, #TeamFiona and #TeamFritz head to an indoor habitat. So you might not see much of our favorite hippo bloat after October! Seek out three Fiona statues hidden throughout the Zoo to see what Fiona dressed up as for Halloween. Look out, she may change from week to week!

4. There are fun animal encounters and enrichment everywhere you turn.

Lions and tigers and bears — oh my! HallZOOween boasts some of the coolest animal encounters of the year. During October, the animals receive special fall themed enrichment activities to increase their overall wellness. Watch along as the animals play and snack on pumpkins!

5. Phil Dalton’s Theater of Illusion Shows at 1pm & 3pm.

The Phil Dalton Theater of Illusion show is an awe-inspiring experience for audience members of all ages. Performed by Phil Dalton and his family, this show lets you witness fantastic, memorable illusions that will keep you guessing. You’ll even see Phil seem to divide himself in two while standing.

HallZOOween happens Oct. 14-15, 21-22 and 28-29 from 12-5 pm and is free for members and included with admission.
