5 Ways to Spend Memorial Weekend in Southwest Ohio

Memorial Day on Monday, May 31, is a day devoted to honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. It is important to keep the reason for the holiday in the forefront of our minds.

Memorial weekend also signifies the start of summer, as most schools are wrapping up by this weekend. After a year of lockdowns, e-learning and uncertainty, we are all ready for some summer fun.

Check out Coney Island’s NEW Challenge Zone

Coney Island opens for the season, Saturday, May 29, and they are coming back with a splash with their brand new Challenge Zone, the largest Aquaglide pool obstacle course in the nation. They are also offering never-ending FUN at Action Alley, including a Jump Pad, Battle Cones, Connect 4 Basketball, Foam Parties, Gaga Pit, and Arts & Crafts. Coney Island is open all summer long for tons of splish-splashing fun.

Enjoy a Berry good time at Blooms and Berries Strawberry Days

While strawberry picking tickets are currently sold out, there is still plenty of fun to be had for kids and adults at Strawberry Days. Spend the day a fun, including a trike track, a ginormous strawberry bouncing pad, water games, bee cart rides, the biggest farm slide and Honey Hill Petting Zoo! Strawberry Days runs through June 6.

Roar through Dino Safari Drive-Thru Adventure in Columbus

Ok, this one isn’t technically in Southwest Ohio, but it’s worth the drive to get up close with more than 40 giant moving dinosaurs on a globetrotting expedition. An easy-to-access in-car audio guide provides entertaining storyline to follow along as you drive through the park full of scientifically accurate educational information about dinosaurs.
