Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo

It’s one of the largest outdoor recreation and nature education events for kids in the country, and it’s right here in Cincinnati.

Great Parks’ Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo happens Friday, July 12 from 9:30 am–3 pm at Winton Woods Harbor.

This FREE annual event is expected to have 4,000–5,000 attendees, including groups from the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati Recreation Commission and Whole Again (a faith-based organization that serves low-income children), as well as the general public.

There will be a variety of free hands-on activities offered all day, including paddling rafts on Winton Lake, a climbing wall, live animals and fishing. Exhibitors at this year’s Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo include Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati Museum Center, Ohio EPA, REI and WAVE Foundation. FC Cincinnati’s mascot “Gary” the lion will be making a special visit, too!

Discover the outdoors with more than 30 exhibitors and interactive activities available at four themed stations:

Let’s Move
Get up and get your body moving! Many activity areas will teach kids about exercise, nutrition and health. Take a turn on Great Parks’ climbing wall, bounce house and inflatables.

Let’s Explore
Get outside and discover! Get up close and personal with nature and wildlife. Take a journey and discover what you can find in your backyard and on a farm.

Let’s Splash
Fish, paddle and make waves on Winton Woods Lake! Paddle a raft, ride on the Winton Queen or try your luck at hooking a fish. Be prepared to get wet!

Let’s Be Green
Get dirty and see how you can make a difference. Discover how you can become a better steward for the environment and learn life skills that emphasize the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

All scheduled activities are on a first-come, first-served basis and may have limited capacity. If you would like to participate in a specific program, please arrive early. Most programs will repeat throughout the day.

Participants should dress according to the weather and wear sneakers or footwear appropriate for a fair amount of walking and participating in exercise activities. Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo also includes some events on the water, so be prepared to get wet!

The Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo is FREE and open to the public. This event is held rain or shine (no rain date). Winton Woods Harbor is located across the street from 10245 Winton Road. To learn more, visit Great Parks website.
