Experience the Louisville Jack O’Lantern Spectacular! More than 5,000 artistically-carved pumpkins set among the stunning woods of Louisville’s Iroquois Park every night from October 1 through November 2. With so many intricately-carved pumpkins and dozens of themed sections, you and your family will have a hard time choosing your favorites!

Entering through the Iroquois Amphitheater, you’ll wander the wide, accessible walking paths through the historic woods, surrounded by thousands of intricately-carved pumpkins, all set among a “spooky-not-scary” backdrop of decorations and light.

What is the Jack O’Lantern Spectacular?

The Jack O’Lantern Spectacular at Louisville, Kentucky’s Iroquois Park has been providing thrilling experiences for more than ten years. It’s a unique, “organic art show” produced by ‘Passion for Pumpkins’ based in Oxford, Massachusetts. The event exhibits over 5,000 illuminated pumpkins, masterfully etched by local artists and paired with thematic tableaux, accompanied by music and various special events throughout October.

The theme of the 2024 Jack O’Lantern Spectacular is “Trivia Night: Pumpkin Edition!,” embodied by the thrill of troll through the stunning display of over 5,000 glowing pumpkins while testing your trivia skills. Gather your friends, enjoy festive treats, and test your pumpkin pi-q!

When is the Jack O’Lantern Spectacular? 

In 2024, the Jack O’Lantern Spectacular in Louisville opened October 1st, and runs until November 2nd. The trail will become accessible at dusk with guests having 1-hour time slots. On Sunday through Thursday, the last entry time is 9:30 p.m., while on Friday and Saturday, it’s extended to 10:30 p.m. Ensure you’re inside the Amphitheater gates by 10:00 p.m. on Sun – Thurs and by 11:00 p.m. on Fri and Sat to enjoy this captivating experience under the evening sky.

When does the trail open each night?

The trail starts when it’s dark enough for a great experience. Although the first entry time is scheduled at 6:30 pm, actual commencement may vary from 6:50 pm to 7:30 pm, depending on the day’s weather and daylight conditions. This slight delay is to ensure that the luminosity of the jack-o’lanterns can be appreciated against the backdrop of a dark starlit sky.

How long is the Jack O’Lantern trail?

The whole trail from entry to exit is about a mile long. It’s a short 1/3 mile walk from the Iroquois Park Amphitheater entrance to the start of the Jack O’Lantern trail. The trail loop is another 1/3 mile. Most people take around 35 to 45 minutes to walk the entire trail, but you have a full hour time slot.

All tickets are non-refundable, but can be exchanged for a different date or time dependent on availability.

Timed ticket entry to the amphitheater: 6:30p, 7:30p, 8:30p, and 9:30p
