Rentschler Forest MetroPark Voted #1 in Butler County!
Located on the banks of the Great Miami River in Fairfield Township, Rentschler Forest MetroPark was voted the #1 park in Butler County in 2023! Rentschler Forest’s playground and trails also received Best of Butler County awards last year. Little ones can awaken their inner explorer on two miles of rustic hiking trails or take a spin on over 11 miles of the paved Great Miami River Trail. The Rentschler Forest playground makes challenging play fun with balance equipment, musical elements and climbing areas. Conveniently located picnic areas, shelters and a new canoe and kayak launch make Rentschler Forest MetroPark the perfect destination for a day of family fun!

From Creeking in the Parks to Nature Explorers, there’s a program or event to keep you and your family engaged with the outdoors all summer long.
- Sample some of MetroParks’ favorite outdoor activities to try in your own backyard at the Big Backyard Nature Bash at the Sebald Area of Elk Creek MetroPark on June 22.
- Get your feet wet and learn about the plants and animals in Ohio’s creeks and streams at the FREE Creeking in the Parks series now through July 13.
- Explore a different nature topic and a new MetroPark each week during the FREE Nature Explorers series from July 12-August 2.
- Celebrate historic farm life and discover Butler County’s thriving farming communities of today during Fun on the Farm at the Chrisholm MetroPark Historic Farmstead on August 24.
