Blue Ash Plans NEW Aquatic Center for 2026 Opening

Residents of Blue Ash can look forward to a state-of-the-art aquatic center as plans for the new Blue Ash Family Aquatic Center have been endorsed by the city council.

The decision to pursue the aquatic center comes after recognizing limitations in the existing pool at the Blue Ash Recreation Center, which was constructed in 1979. The new aquatic center is designed to feature separate “rooms” tailored to different types of swimmers, aiming to eliminate user conflicts and improve overall accessibility.

The proposed timeline includes the commencement of construction in August, with the pool slated to open its doors in May of 2026.

One of the noteworthy aspects of the plan is the expansion and enhancement of pool features. The new facility is set to offer:

  • 14,600 square feet of pool space, an increase from the current 12,000 square feet.
  • The leisure swimming section will include zero-depth entrances, a vortex zone with spinning water, and shaded stairs that can also serve as seating.
  • The addition of four slides – open, closed, speed, and family-sized – aims to cater to a wide range of preferences.
  • The lap pool will be equipped with eight 25-meter lanes, accommodating the 200-person Blue Fins swim team and everyday swimmers.
  • Additionally, the center is set to feature expanded concessions, new tennis and pickleball courts, as well as cabanas and other shaded areas.

Membership to the new aquatic center is expected to remain exclusive to residents, employees, and UC students at comparable prices to the current membership fees. The existing pool, which serves approximately 33,000 people annually, will undergo a significant transformation to meet the evolving needs and preferences of the community.

In summary, the upcoming opening of the Blue Ash Family Aquatic Center in 2026 represents a significant and exciting development for the city. With an emphasis on enhancing user experience and ensuring accessibility, the project is poised to redefine the recreational landscape in Blue Ash, offering a diverse array of amenities aimed at enriching the lives of its residents
