Did you know that March 2 is a holiday?
In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, March 2 is celebrated as National Read Across America Day! Every year the National Education Association (NEA) celebrates reading and Dr. Seuss’s birthday by hosting Read Across America Day, the largest celebration of reading across the country. Thousands of schools, libraries and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens and books.
Here in Cincinnati, you can celebrate by heading to Blue Manatee for one of their famed ActivAtees in honor of Mr. Geisel. From 12-1 on Wednesday, March 2, celebrate National Read Across America Day at Blue Manatee! It’s the perfect reason to gather together and read some Dr. Seuss favorites — and honor the Cat and the Hat with a red and white stovepipe hat craft! Call 731-2665 to reserve a spot.
There’s also a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party happening at the Walnut Hills Branch Library at 3 p.m., plus several other library events in March to honor Dr. S.
