Dogwood Pass is a replica 1800s frontier town in Beaver, Ohio, about two hours east of Cincinnati and Dayton off state Route 32. From Thanksgiving weekend until just before Christmas, the saloon, general store and sheriff’s office swap tumbleweeds for Christmas lights, and the Old West runs straight into the North Pole.
Christmas in the Wild West
Thousands of lights cover the wooden storefronts, and costumed cowboys and outlaws put on holiday-themed shows throughout the day. Santa and the Grinch are on hand every day the town is open, so you can get both photos in one trip. On weekends, a Wild West show starts around 3 p.m., right before Santa and the Grinch take the stage.

Christmas at Dogwood Pass runs Thursday through Sunday from the weekend after Thanksgiving until just before Christmas.
- Thursdays: 6 to 9 p.m.
- Fridays: 6 to 10 p.m.
- Saturdays: 2 to 10 p.m.
- Sundays: 2 to 9 p.m.
Admission: $15, cash only. Kids under 6 get in free.

Plan Your Visit
Bring cash. Admission is cash only, and you’ll want extra for concessions. For the full lineup, go on a weekend and arrive by 3 p.m. for the Wild West show, then stay past dark when the lights take over. Thursday and Friday visits are evening-only and shorter. Most of the town is outdoors on wooden boardwalks, so dress for a cold night in the hills.
If your family has already done every drive-thru holiday lights display near home, this is a different kind of December night out.
