Construction for Kids: Build, Play & Learn

Fact: kids love construction. But parents can tire of the typical LEGO playing, books about trucks and sand diggers at the playground. That’s why Construction for Kids: Build, Play & Learn at The Betts House, is something you have to check out!

This exhibit is unique in a lot of ways. For one, it’s an interactive, STEM-inspired exhibit located in one of Cincinnati’s coolest and most historic buildings. In fact, the exhibit was specially been designed by the Betts House especially to expose children to real life building concepts. There are 10 different stations which showcase a different set of tools, materials, safety equipment or architectural concepts.

This exhibit encourages kids to explore, touch and interact with each module. There are lots of different things to see and do: kids can see how pipes connect, attach drawer handles to a board, stack up different types of blocks to create a tower, trace house designs or blue prints, play with nuts and bolts, and more!

As we get into the last few weeks before school starts, be sure to put this on your list of things to do. Plus, admission is just $2/child, which is an amazing deal! Construction for Kids: Build, Play & Learn is only on display until Aug. 18 — and you’ll want to note the museum’s hours.

The Betts House is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and the 2nd & 4th Saturday of each month, 12:30-5 p.m. (If Saturdays are good for you, mark down Saturday, Aug. 13 — it’s the final Saturday for this exhibit!)
