Meant to be a hands-on sensory experience, the brand new Creativity Center at the Contemporary Arts Center is exciting and full of movable art, bright colors and stimulating sounds!
Located on the 6th floor of the famous contemporary Zaha Hadid-designed building, the Creativity Center at the CAC opened in October 2022 and is free for all. Welcoming families of all ages, fun at the Creativity Center ranges from toddler-sized squishy balls to a working record player, meant to be turned and explored.
Your first step off the elevator will guarantee a “wow” everytime! Pam Kravetz’ House of Wonder pops from the forefront with wacky shapes, UV painted walls, multi-colored LED lights and a red carpet to the open ball room behind. Climb inside with your little one as you press buttons to turn on lights, dance to a silly song or color a grand design with UV markers.
Just when you think it’s imPASTAble to get any better, the PASTAbilities are endless with artist Abby Peitsmeyer! Around the corner from House of Wonder highlights larger-than-life bowtie, spaghetti and rotini noodles with bright pops of color. Dive into a big pink bowl of ravioli and use your imagination to create your own life-sized spaghetti dish.
The stimulating sounds of the Creativity Center stretch far; listen to the sound of water flowing through an inflatable “room” of purples and blues, spin tunes on the record player with many records to hear, press buttons throughout to hear and see different wacky jingles.
Nine community artists came together to create a free, welcoming space for all to enjoy contemporary arts in a hands-on way. The space of the center is open and full of grand seating areas, tall windows with bright sunshine, a recycled-material art room at the Zero Waste Art Lab and space for weekly meetings and art classes.
The Creativity Center is on the 6th floor of the Contemporary Arts Center located at 44 E. 6th Street Cincinnati.
