Halloween Nights at Parky’s Farm

There are a few places throughout the Cincinnati area that we like to visit multiple times during the year, because they are so different in each season. As a part of the wonderful Great Parks of Hamilton County system, Parky’s Farm is a unique, family-friendly destination that is always a good time. It’s wonderful if you want to just have a picnic and play on the playground, or if you want a true farm experience, Parky’s Farm has long been a favorite for our family and many others in Cincinnati.

This fall, Parky’s Farm is hosting Halloween Nights, a “not-a-bit-scary” nighttime Halloween party.

We checked it out on its opening night, because after attending last year, this is the one seasonal event that my children begged to do again. Especially if you have young children, Halloween Nights at Parky’s Farm is a one-of-a-kind evening event this season that’s a ghoulishly good time.

Halloween Nights takes place Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 9 pm. now through October 28th. You can purchase tickets online here, or at the event, but they are $1 less if you purchase online ahead of time, so keep that in mind. One of the many reasons we love this event is that you do not need to purchase separate tickets or tokens to do each activity. Nearly everything is included with the price of admission.

If you’ve ever been to Parky’s Farm, then you know that it is indeed a farm, but also has a lot of open, grassy space. For Halloween Nights, this space is filled with twinkling lights, fun (not scary) characters, bounce houses, miniature golf, a giant slide, fun house, and so much more. Our kids loved the rides that are ideal for their ages (4 and 5), but I do think that kids of all ages would enjoy this event. We also loved our visit inside the “Hardly-Haunted Castle,” watching the magic and juggling show, and definitely the hayride through the woods, complete with many more light displays (very similar to the Holiday in Lights event at Sharon Woods! Just shorter and in a hay wagon!).

As I mentioned, all of these activities are included with your admission. You can also purchase food, a s’more kit to make at the campfire or a pony ride. We spent about two hours at the farm and were able to do every activity, and even some of them twice. Halloween Nights is a great way to experience Parky’s Farm in the fall, and in a totally different way.

Most evening events for Halloween are too scary for young children, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want in on the festive fun. If you are looking for a kid-friendly and festive event to take your little witches and goblins to this season, don’t forget about Parky’s Farm and its not-a-bit-scary Halloween Nights.
