If you live near one of its two locations, you may take Jungle Jim’s for granted. But, if you haven’t been, it’s a must-experience for the whole family. Yes, you can do your normal shopping at Jungle Jim’s American grocery, but the fun begins with the international and specialty items offered.
Social Studies Up Close
Are your kids doing a report on England? Grab some British teas or biscuits. Studying Cinco de Mayo? There’s an aisle for Mexican food. Looking for more exotic fare? It’s there, too. International fare does have designated aisles, but it is also intertwined through the other departments, including cheese, beer and wine, and fresh produce that includes varieties you’ve never heard of before.
Locales & Offerings
Each of Jungle Jim’s locations is different, but both offer over 200,000 square feet with over 180,000 items. Fairfield was the original location and started with a roadside fruit stand. Eastgate was built in 2012 and is a more modern interpretation, with wacky displays like a hot sauce drone and candy castle.
Events are plentiful at Jungle Jim’s, from cooking classes for kids and adults to fests, such as the International Beer Festival (June 14-15), Weekend of Fire (in August) and the International Wine Festival (in November).
In short, Jungle Jim’s is a Little Foodie destination that shouldn’t be missed!
