Author and illustrator Laurie Keller is coming to Blue Manatee this fall! On September 30 from 1:30-2:30 pm, Ms. Keller will share and sign her newest book, Potato Pants! at this author event guaranteed to delight children of all ages!
In Potato Pants!, a potato and his eggplant nemesis struggle to find the perfect pants. This is a hilarious, heartwarming tale of forgiveness by bestselling, Geisel-Award winning creator Laurie Keller.
The premise: Potato is excited because today – for one day only – Lance Vance’s Fancy Pants Store is selling potato pants! (Pants are hard for a potato to find.) But when Potato arrives, something gives him pause. (You’ll have to read it to find out what happens…) We received an early copy of this book (thanks, MacMillan Children’s!) and my kids could literally not put it down. My 7-year-old read it at least four times to his siblings, who were a captive audience. (Except when they were giggling at the “funny parts,” which happened quite frequently.)
For the Blue Manatee event, if you pre-order the book, you’ll receive a potato to decorate and mail to a special loved one at a special VIP (very important potato) event before the signing. The event itself is free.
Other books by the author, including The Scrambled States of America, Birdie’s Smile Book, and We Are Growing! A Mo Willems’ Elephant & Piggie Like Reading! Book, will be available for purchase and signing prior to and at the event.
