Never heard of Parlor Doughnuts? That’s because this craft doughnut and coffee shop is relatively new on the scene, opening its first location in Evansville, Indiana, in 2019. The dream for this unique shop came as Darrick Hayden traveled with his son Noah’s band for a few years. Each stop became an opportunity to sample the best local doughnuts and coffee.
Doughnut Varieties
Parlor Doughnuts utilizes the style from the fanciest room in the house and offers guests a hard-to-choose-just-one menu of its signature layered doughnuts, very similar to cronuts. Layered doughnuts come in a wide variety, including maple bacon, sandy beach, carnival, French toast, cookies ‘n cream, campfire, churro, bourbon caramel, blueberry hill, strawberry shortcake, dreamsicle, raspberry pistachio and lemon bar. Not willing to try the fancy flavors? You can opt for the Plain Jane. Have dietary needs? Parlor offers guests keto varieties and a vegan/gluten-free option with customizable glazes. A box of mini doughnuts offers smaller bites. And Fido can be happy with a doggy doughnut.From drip to latte, espresso and cortado, there’s a coffee for everyone. Heartier appetite options include breakfast sandwiches and tacos.
Expanding
Parlor Doughnuts is currently open with one location on the east side of Cincinnati and two locations near Columbus. Their website says they will be expanding into more locations, including Dayton.
