Sometimes, we take everyday actions for granted, such as our children being able to communicate or being able to walk up and down steps. But for many families of children with special needs, their daily reality is much different. Improving that reality can have many facets and be an overwhelming cost. That’s where Building Blocks for Kids (BB4K) can make a brighter future for every child.
How did BB4K start?
Dynette Clark, executive director of BB4K: In 2003, a group of four women united to assist a friend locate resources for her daughter whose required medical procedure was not covered by insurance. This revealed a significant community need for assistance in meeting unfulfilled medical needs, and expanded to offer support and a caring atmosphere for families caring for children with special needs. BB4K has built a community inclusive of people of all abilities. We are committed to helping children thrive based on their strengths and reach their full potential.
