Carry Her, a program of the nonprofit Impacting Tomorrow in Loveland, provides free diapers, menstrual products, postpartum supplies and hygiene essentials to women, children and families across the region. The program addresses feminine care and diaper insecurity while working to restore stability, confidence and hope for the families it serves. Laura Baker, foundation relationship manager at Impacting Tomorrow, talked with Southwest Ohio Parent about the program.
What does feminine care or diaper insecurity look like locally?
“Feminine care and diaper insecurity impact far more families than many people realize,” Baker said. “Every week, we meet parents forced to choose between paying rent, buying food, or purchasing basic care items for their children.” For young girls, a lack of menstrual products can lead to missed school days, embarrassment and isolation. Diapers are not covered by programs like SNAP or WIC, adding further strain on families already stretched thin. “Many of these families are working hard every day,” Baker said. “They are our neighbors, coworkers, classmates and friends. Carry Her exists because we believe no mother should have to choose between diapers and dinner, and no young girl should miss opportunities because she lacks access to basic essentials.”
How does Carry Her fit into the broader mission of Impacting Tomorrow?
Carry Her is part of Impacting Tomorrow’s holistic care model, which provides food, clothing, healthcare access, hygiene support, education and family stabilization services under one roof. The program focuses on often-overlooked needs that directly affect dignity, health and stability for women, children and families.
Who is eligible and what items are most requested?
Anyone visiting Impacting Tomorrow with a need for support can access Carry Her resources. There are no ZIP code restrictions or complicated barriers. The most requested items include pads with wings, size 5-7 diapers, wipes, postpartum recovery supplies and incontinence products.
Why are school and community partnerships so important?
Providing products is essential, but Baker said lasting impact requires education and ongoing support. Through partnerships with schools and community organizations, Carry Her helps young girls consistently attend school, participate confidently and focus on learning without worrying about access to basic care items.
What does the process look like for families visiting for the first time?
Families complete a simple registration process and are welcomed into a dignified, free-choice environment where they can access multiple services during one visit. Impacting Tomorrow’s campus includes the Market, the Boutique, Carry Her, pediatric therapy services, and on-site medical and dental care through community partnerships.
How can families and businesses support Carry Her?
Families, individuals and businesses can support Carry Her by donating products, hosting drives, volunteering or becoming monthly supporters. “Community partnerships allow us to continue expanding access to essential care items while restoring dignity and stability for families throughout our region,” Baker said.
