The Zoo may have fallen off your radar after the Festival of Lights.
But I’m here to put it right back on your radar. Going to the Zoo when it’s cold is magical. You see animals that you wouldn’t normally get to see. Lots of bears! Big cats! And penguins.
Yup — these little tuxedo-clad creatures are the star of the show in the winter. In fact, they get their very own show!
On winter weekends, head to the Zoo for the #BestParadeinAmerica: the Penguin Parade! Twice a day (as long as the temps fall below 50), watch as the Zoo’s colony of King Penguins walks between the Wings of Wonder bird house and the entrance of the Children’s Zoo. Kids will delight in waddling after these fancy little guys, and you’ll marvel at how cool penguins really are up-close!
While you’re there, enjoy special animal encounters with the Zoo’s other cold-weather-loving animals, such as the polar bears and snow monkeys!
If you’re not a Zoo member — you should be! (Seriously — the Zoo is the best, and the Family Gold Pass is a total steal!) But, if you’re not a member, you can purchase tickets for half-price every day through March 11.
The #BestParadeinAmerica happens on Saturdays and Sundays through March 11 (weather permitting). Half-price Zoo admission is going on daily though March 11. The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is located at 3400 Vine St., Cincinnati, OH 45220.
