Nature at Night Pumpkin Hike

This is a small, low-key event compared to other fall festivals but this is one of my family’s  favorite October traditions! Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve is a small park off of busy Colerain Avenue in Colerain Township. In fact, if you blink while driving by, you might miss it. But it’s a real nature gem hidden between busy intersections and car dealerships. The park has a lovely little gift shop that I frequent a couple times of year and some nice walking trails through the woods.

But on Sat. Oct. 28, the park is transformed to a nighttime wonderland of jack-o-lanterns. Bring a flashlight and arrive between 6:30 and 7:30 pm for the self-guided hike. A limited number of pumpkin tickets will be sold for the 8 p.m. jack-o-lantern drawing. You won’t believe the number of carved pumpkins AND how creative they are!

A valid Great Parks of Hamilton County Motor Vehicle Permit ($3 daily, $10 annual) is required to enter the park.
