Renovated OB Spaces Coming to Good Samaritan Hospital

Maternity areas at the region’s premier provider of obstetric care are getting a top-to-bottom makeover. Widely regarded as one of the top delivery hospitals in Ohio, Good Samaritan Hospital will soon have state-of-the-art maternity spaces to match their clinical reputation.  Along with updated, all-private suites for all maternity patients, TriHealth will soon complete construction on brand new spaces to improve the ease of registration, comfort during family visits and access within the hospital. The first two phases of the project—fully updating the Mother and Baby Unit and relocating and the Advanced Obstetrical Care Unit—have already been completed.

The new maternity gateway will be through the main Dixmyth entrance. Twenty-four-hour valet parking will be available, and it will be easy to access the new OB triage area, which will be twice the size of the current space, and new family spaces.

High-risk patients from across the TriHealth system will benefit from renovation. If any complications arise during pregnancy, patients are often referred to the group of 12 Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists who practice at Bethesda North and Good Samaritan Hospitals. When needed, in-patient stays are at the newly opened TriHealth Advanced Obstetrical Care Unit at Good Samaritan, formerly known as Special Care Obstetrics.

A final set of renovations in Labor and Delivery will include two new critical care labor-and-delivery rooms, providing state-of-the-art care for the highest risk deliveries.   Patients at high risk and those who may need the clinical resources of a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit can be cared for at Good Samaritan Hospital.
