RiverScape MetroParks Ice Rink: A Must-Do Holiday Tradition for Dayton Families

Opening November 28, the rink transforms downtown Dayton into a sparkling winter destination filled with family-friendly fun, themed skate nights, warm drinks, and plenty of holiday cheer.

From little ones taking their first glide to seasoned skaters showing off a few spins, the RiverScape Ice Rink offers an inviting, festive atmosphere that encourages families to bundle up and make memories all winter long.

A Winter Destination the Whole Family Will Love

From the moment the rink opens for the season, RiverScape MetroPark becomes a picture-perfect winter wonderland. Holiday lights twinkle across the Great Miami River, music fills the air, and the entire park comes alive with joyful energy.

Skating isn’t just fun — it’s great for your body during the colder months. Even with early sunsets and chilly air, getting outside and moving is key to staying active in winter. A few laps around the ice is the perfect family outing that feels festive and refreshing.

Opening Weekend Hours

Friday, Nov. 28: 11 AM – 10 PM
Saturday, Nov. 29: 11 AM – 10 PM
Sunday, Nov. 30: 1 PM – 5 PM

After opening weekend, the rink follows its regular seasonal schedule through February.

  • The MSD Warming Zone

  • On-site hot cocoa, snacks, and warm drinks

RiverScape MetroPark is also part of Dayton’s DORA district, so adults can enjoy a festive seasonal beverage as they stroll through the park.

Daily Admission: $7
Skate Rental: $3
Children under 3 are free with a paying adult.

Families using SNAP/EBT receive a reduced admission rate.
