Symposium Overview:
8:30 to 9:30 am – Considering the Needs of the Whole Child at Schoolpresented by Amanda Van Mil, M.Ed., Teacher Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program – Lindner Center of Hope
After the presentation the participants will be able to:
• Identify domains within the school environment that contribute to student outcomes
• Explain how common mental health conditions and neurotypes present at school
• Explore opportunities for enhancing communication and understanding
9:30 to 10:30 am – Neuropsychological Testing and its Value in Understanding School-Age Children presented by Jennifer L. Farley, Psy.D., Associate Chief of Psychology Services, Clinical Director of Neuropsychology, Lindner Center of Hope After the presentation the participants will be able to:
• Explain the common referrals for testing
• Explain different aspects of functioning that are evaluated
• Describe how neuropsychological testing can help guide realistic suggestions for learning
