A little-known secret around Cincinnati is the Cincinnati Public Library’s Discovery Pass! This pass gives library cardholders an opportunity to reserve daily and weekly passes for some of the best museums Cincinnati has to offer, including the Children’s Museum!
Checking out a Discovery Pass is easy! All you need is a Library card in good standing. Use the online reservation system to view which passes are available and to reserve a pass. Please check with each organization on best practices for redeeming your pass during the pandemic, and to learn about current safety protocols. Please note passes are available once every 30 days per customer.

Library cardholders planning to reserve a pass must be in good standing with the library. Your Discovery Pass of choice may book early, for popular museums like the Cincinnati Museum Center’s Children’s Museum, American Sign Museum and Cincinnati Art Museum Special Exhibitions, plan to reserve 2-3 months ahead of time.
The length of time you get to “check out” the Discovery Pass is determined by the individual museum. Some locations include a weekly pass while others are daily only. You may be given the choice to print tickets at home but some require a physical pass to be checked out at a library location.
