Yay for the Olympics!

I don’t know about you, but I am a BIG fan of the Olympics! I’ve watched them since I was a kid, and I was fortunate enough to participate in the 2002 Olympic Torch Relay and attend the games in Salt Lake City. My daughter even had an Olympic-themed birthday party one year (more on that next week).

To kick off our Olympic extravaganza, let’s talk about getting ready for the big event. If you’re looking to get up to speed on all things Olympic, check out the Olympic site. And here’s a book to get your kids in the know. Once they’re up to speed, have them test their knowledge with an Olympic activity book, or some puzzles.

Want to do a little decorating before the opening ceremonies? Consider hanging international flags or getting an inflatable torch for the kids. Or make your own torch here.

Next week, we’ll talk about how to host a gold medal party… stay tuned. Until then, let the games begin!
