Come celebrate A MainStrasse Village Holiday!   Our one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants and entertainment venues will be open.  We’ll be having special holiday events as follows:

MainStrasse Village Tree Lighting, Holiday Open House and Opening of Wahoo’s Winter Wonderland

Friday, November 27, 6:30 pm.  Please join us in lighting the tree on 6th and Main, complete with music, free hot chocolate & cookies and…..a visit from Santa!  While you’re here, be sure to visit our shops and restaurants throughout the Village.  Wahoo’s Winter Wonderland opens for the first time in Goebel Park.  A whimsical, animated holiday attraction including a Candy Cane Forest, Ice Skating Dogs, photos with Santa…and so much more.

Wiley Wahoo’s Winter Wonderland

A whimsical, animated holiday attraction in Goebel Park including a Candy Cane Forest, Ice Skating Dogs, photos with Santa…and so much more.  Kids of all ages and dog lovers everywhere will enjoy this display, based on a fun-filled tale of two furry friends who share holiday happenings all over town.  Wahoo’s Wonderland kicks off on Friday, November 27 from 4:00 pm-9:00 pm.  It will be open Thursday – Saturday from 10 am – 8:00 pm and on Sundays from noon – 6:00 pm.  Display runs from November 27th – December 20.  December 21st  and 22nd, noon – 8 pm, December 23rd, noon – 6 pm.

Small Business Saturday

Saturday, November 28.  Please support our small businesses by shopping local this holiday season.  Special: Bring your receipt from a participating business to another participating business and receive 10% off your purchase.

Fresh cut Christmas tree and wreath sale

December 4th-5th-6th.  Boy Scout Troop 717 is coming back to MainStrasse Village to sell fresh cut Christmas trees (Frasier firs) and wreaths.  They will be available on the Sixth Street Promenade on Friday, December 4th, 5:00 pm – 10 pm, Saturday 10 am – 10 pm and Sunday 10 am – 4 pm.  Trees will also be available November 27th-29th by appointment only.  Call 859-491-0458 to schedule an appointment.  Make buying your tree in the Village a family tradition!

Arrival of St Nicholas

Sunday, December 6th  -. Saint Nicholas arrives at the Goose Girl Fountain at 6:00 pm with a special treat for all of the boys and girls.  Hot chocolate and cookies will also be served.  This is a free event.

Candy Cane Hunt

Saturday, December 12th, 1:00 pm -3:00 pm in Goebel Park.  Age groups: 3-5 yrs, 6-8 yrs, 9-12 yrs with a special Reindeer Patch for children under 3.  Hot chocolate, a petting zoo and Wiley Wahoo’s winter wonderland will be a part of the fun, free event.

Holiday Lunch and Gifts for Children

Sunday, December 13 & Sunday, December 20. Enjoy a special lunch at Wertheim’s., 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Caroling on Stoney’s Front Porch  

323 W 6th Street – December 19, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm.  Instruments, hot chocolate and cookies will be provided.

Give back this season!  Support our Hats & Mittens Drive to Keep Covington Kids Warm.

During the month of December, drop off new hats and mittens at the MainStrasse Village Association office (406 West 6th Street) or donate $1 by purchasing paper mittens at participating Covington businesses.  Donations will be distributed to Covington’s kids through Covington Partners.
