Last Friday, TCT took over Cincinnati Parent’s Instagram and we couldn’t get enough.
From clown noses to rogue hairs, TCT Producing Acting Director Roderick Justice had us laughing all day long.
This triple threat showed off his tap dancing skills, took audiences on exclusive tours of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s Redbank Road facility (including his next-level office space) and chatted with Local 12 star (and TCT regular) Bob Herzog. The day culminated with an *epic showdown* in the Wig Room.
But it wasn’t just fun and games; Roderick also shared how TCT is weathering the COVID-19 storm, pivoting to keep Cincy kids engaged and connected.
Their TCT Everywhere page has proven to be an invaluable resource, with craft ideas, podcasts, acting exercises and even entire shows posted for kids to enjoy. All activities on TCT Everywhere are free and easy to access, providing a fun dose of the arts to your current homeschool repertoire.
Right now, TCT is closed and many of their spring shows have been cancelled. (Matilda the Musical has been moved to the 2020-21 MainStage season.)
But, the show must go on — and TCT is making it work. This Saturday, TCT and Cincinnati Parent are hosting a Facebook Watch Party for Sleeping Beauty. A clever take on the classic fairy tale, this new rock musical comedy is packed with humor, heart and a powerful message! (Can’t make the Watch Party? Enjoy Sleeping Beauty in its entirety on TCT’s YouTube page!)
We are living in an unprecedented historical moment right now, and it’s scary. But TCT is proving that, even in the most uncertain of times, we can rely on theatre.
If you missed Roderick’s Cincinnati Parent’s Instagram #takeover, we’ve saved it on our IG page here.
