Candlelight Concerts in Cincinnati

Cincinnati lands some pretty impressive shows and experiences for families and this one is especially grand for its candlelight musical concert! Never done before, Fever presents Candlelight, a multi-sensory musical experience for ages 8+.

Plan a date night or bring the kids with you, Candlelight offers many concerts like Bach to the Beatles, Tribute to Adele, Beyoncé, Queen, Taylor Swift, Cold Play Favorite Anime Themes and more! The concert is surrounded by hundreds of flameless candles, typically in a restored-church, with live music and refreshments.

Candlelight for Kids

While the experience of a string quartet in candlelight should be had by all, we recognize that this event might not be suitable for all children. The setting is small and intended to be quiet + comforting. If your little one can’t sit quietly still for an hour— you might want to sit this one out. (We suggest a visit to the Art Museum during CAM Kids Day!)

Candlelight concerts are for ages 8 and up! With an eight year old in tow, she was the perfect age to fully grasp the concert and appreciate the music. Between sets, the quartet would stop to talk about the pieces, their history and sometimes add a little personal note. It’s incredible for kids (and adults!) to watch the passion of violinists and cellists.

Candlelight at The Transept

Candlelight Concerts are offered at two former churches in Cincinnati: Bell Event Center and The Transept. Both locations are super safe in the heart of downtown with local restaurants and Washington Park surrounding. Parking is easy to find with private lots, parking garage and street parking. Burn off some energy at the Washington Park playground before the show!

The Transept’s doors open to a grand staircase leading to the main floor— surrounded by flameless candles. The ambiance is immediately calming with dark wood accents and warm glowing candles. The stunning stained-glass windows illuminated by the glow really tune you into the experience. While photos and videos are not allowed during most of the performance, the quartet does allow for recordings during the final piece.

Tickets + Seating

Tickets are sold in zones with first come first served seating within the zone. Doors typically open 30 minutes early and everyone must be seated before the concert starts. VIP standing room only provides the best view from above and your own bar. This option is perfect for date nights! Bringing the kids along? Opt for a zone in the back for less distractions.
