COSI is a world-class children’s museum — and I’m missing it big. Several times a year, I make the 70-minute drive up 1-71 to experience the wide, wonderful world with my kids. COSI is truly one of Ohio’s greatest assets, and a day spent wandering at COSI is always special.
COSI is currently closed to the public due to the Ohio Governor’s COVID-19 stay-at-home order. But this Columbus gem is opening its (virtual) doors with COSI Connects.
COSI Connects is the museum’s digital doorway to a STEAM-spired world. Through COSI Connects, the talented crews at COSI is delivering exciting and engaging content through videos and hands-on science.
COSI Connects videos include a swath of STEAM-specific topics, such as the science of hockey, glow-in-the-dark sharks, proprioception (I had to watch the video for this one — it’s basically the science behind our “sixth” sense!) and more. The videos are presented by COSI crew members in an accessible, fun and kid-friendly way.
(You know the phrase “don’t try this at home?” The folks at COSI DO want you to try this at home!) COSI Connects offers a ton of at-home activities, using basic materials you likely have on hand. Kids can dig into fossils, see how soap works and even participate in a chocolate experiment!
