Intended Audience: Recommended for 5 years and up with a caregiver. Adult chaperones/parents must register and should attend with their child. Older and younger siblings may attend if they are registered and paid. This program is designed for homeschoolers/virtual learners. (2 years and under are free.)
Program Description: Join a naturalist for this winter adventure to find some of our native maple trees and learn about how the process of photosynthesis is involved with the production of maple syrup, which we call “liquid sunshine.” Help with sugaring work and sample warm maple syrup right off the evaporator.
What to Expect:
- This program is mostly outdoors with indoor options available in the case of severe weather.
- Restrooms are available only at the start and end of the program, as we will be out on the trails during the program.
- Trails/areas used during this program are rated as accessible (packed gravel trails, mild hills, optional possible off trail) for a planned distance of 0.25-0.5 mile at a slow pace.
- Program runs rain or shine.
