Star Spangled Celebration

The 2026 Star Spangled Celebration will be special this year, with a laser light show designed to honor America’s 250th birthday.

It’s been a great summer already, but the fun goes to a whole new level with the annual Star- Spangled Celebration on Thursday, July 3, at the Vandalia Sports Complex. This Independence Day tradition is always a crowd favorite, but this year, organizers are making the celebration even bigger in honor of America’s 250th birthday.

The evening kicks off at 6 p.m. with fun activities for the kids and food vendors will offer everything from cookout classics like hot dogs and hamburgers to lumpias, snow cones, drinks, and other treats. At 7 p.m., Springfield’s own Ryan Mundy, a rising Nashville country artist known for his country-rock sound and high-energy performances, will take the stage.

And the evening only gets better! At 10 p.m. sharp, we’re DOUBLING the oohs and ahhs by adding a spectacular laser light show to the fireworks! The laser light show is made possible by a donation from American Legion Post 668.
