Explore Nature! Spring Fest in the Woods

Join us on April 23 from 10am – 2pm in Burnet Woods as we celebrate the beauty and bounty of Spring at our First Annual Spring Fest in the Woods. This FREE family friendly event will keep all ages engaged with live animal encounters, guided wildflower walks, face painting, crafts, plant and natural product vendors and local experts on hand to answer your questions about habitat restoration. Don’t miss the cooking demonstrations/tastings with wild edibles you can forage from your own back yard. For a quick meal, visit U Lucky Dog food truck located onsite. Live music from HuTown Holler, a local string band, will keep our feet moving!  Visit with our Park Naturalists to discover the remarkable natural resources Cincinnati Parks have to offer!

For more information on this event, call 861-3435.Our Spring Fest in the Woods event is not only a celebration of this wonderful season but of the colorful display carpeting the forest floor:  Wildflowers.  Woodland wildflowers provide us a short glimpse of hope for warmer weather yet to come. March and April are the perfect time to see these amazing beauties in bloom. Warm temperatures, gentle rainfalls and the absence of the shady tree canopy allow the sun to shine directly on the forest floor, before the leaf buds of our maple, beech and oak trees open and create a tent of shadows over the rills and hills of the woods.
