Frost: An Ice-Capped Garden Experience

As the calendar turns toward winter, the Cleveland Botanical Garden once again transforms into a shimmering realm of holiday enchantment. Frost: An Ice-Capped Garden Experience invites visitors into a world of light, scent, sound, and botanical wonder — a celebration of nature’s beauty dressed in winter’s finest.

A Winter Wonderland Like No Other

Step into a dozen themed environments, each showing a unique facet of the season — from crystalline corridors and frosted forests to glowing ice tunnels and cozy winter scenes. Indoors and out, the garden shines with towering ice arches, dramatic light installations, and paths illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights.

Over 500 poinsettias and winter plants fill the air with color and life, while botanical-inspired animal sculptures and floral displays tie the magic back to the garden’s natural roots. Guests can also enjoy the 18th Annual Gingerbread House Competition, where dozens of hand-crafted creations are displayed throughout the space.

The event is further brought to life by a seasonal soundtrack, the scent of gingerbread, and a sensory blend of light and sound that makes Frost a truly immersive and magical experience.
