Great Parks to Debut New Winter Celebration this Holiday Season

November 17- December 23 at Parky's Farm

After the temperature drops and leaves have fallen off the trees, Great Parks will be launching a new event, Holidays on the Farm, at Parky’s Farm in Winton Woods, offering a wide open welcome for guests to celebrate the winter holidays in the outdoors.

“Holidays on the Farm will be about experiencing the season in nature, even with a chill in the air,” said Todd Palmeter, CEO of Great Parks. “The amazing increase in park visitors the past couple of years has reinforced to us how much the community values the wellness benefits of exploring outdoor spaces. This gathering will be a great opportunity to recharge and reconnect with friends and family while rediscovering all the amazing sights at Parky’s Farm in the winter.”

Parky’s Farm will be on full display for the celebration. Guests will experience the magic of the holiday season when they step out of their cars for a self-led exploration of lighted nature trails in the woods, hayrides, caroling music, meet-and-greets with Great Parks animals – and, of course, photos with Santa. A beer garden will add to the holiday cheer, as well as other food and drink options. Traditional farm features and natural surroundings will be highlighted with LED lights.

As part of its shift in focus toward events more closely aligned with the agency’s master plan, which focuses on nature-based experiences, Great Parks will no longer serve as the host for the Holiday in Lights drive-through light show at Sharon Woods.

Holidays on the Farm will take place from November 17 – December 23. More details about the event will be announced later this fall.
