What makes Guardian Angels School unique?

Our preschool is unique as we are part of the Gaudian Angels Parish community. Within this community, all parents, students, and staff are united in the mission of fostering a strong relationship with God.

What is Guardian Angels School’s age/grade range?

Preschool: 3-5 years old (must be 3 by September 30th), School: Preschool-8th grade

What is Guardian Angels School’s educational philosophy?

The preschool program is a play-based program with teacher led activities and lessons incorporated throughout the day.

What is your enrollment policy? Are there any key dates parents should be aware of?

Open House: January 9th from 5pm-7pm

Open Enrollment Begins: January 16th

Tours available upon request.

What are the standard school day hours? Does your school offer flexible day/hour options? Is before/after school care available?

Preschool drop-off is between 7:45-8:05 a.m.
Preschool dismissal is at 2:30 p.m.
Preschool Extended Care program is available from 2:30-6 p.m.

How many children are in each class? How are children divided up?

We have three Preschool classrooms that include children who are 3-4 years old and have a maximum of 12 students in each class. We have three PreK classrooms that include children who are 4-5 years old and will be eligible for kindergarten the following school year and have a maximum of 14 students in each class.

What is the teacher/child ratio?

Preschool 1:12, PreK 1:14 with additional teaching assistants available at all times throughout the day to assist all classrooms and students as needed.

What are the teacher’s credentials?

All teachers have a degree in Early Childhood Education, and all have a teaching license through the State of Ohio. All Preschool staff members (teachers and assistants) take 10-15 hours of state approved Early Childhood Education trainings every year. All staff members are trained in CPR/First Aid, Communicable Diseases, Child Abuse, and SafeParish.

Is parental participation required?

Parental participation is not required. Volunteers for school events and special activities are always welcome and encouraged. Parents must be SafeParish trained and stay up to date to be able to volunteer at Guardian Angels.

How do teachers communicate with parents? How often do parents receive updates?

Each classroom sends out a weekly newsletter on Fridays via email. Newsletters will include what the students learned and did during the week, what they will be working on the upcoming week and any reminders. Each classroom also uses a classroom app to share pictures with the families.

Does your school offer support for students with special needs?

We provide an inclusive environment which allows all learners to succeed. If a student has an identified learning disability, the school administration will work with the family to ensure a successful learning environment for all.

How much time do the children spend outside?

All classrooms have 45 minutes of outside play time each day on a playground specifically for our Preschool program. When the weather does not allow us to take the students outside, classrooms have 30 minutes of large gross motor play in our school’s gym.

Are meals and/or snacks provided?

Parents will provide a morning snack and lunch daily. An afternoon snack is provided by the program for students attending extended care.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?

Yes, students must be potty trained by the first day of school.

What enrichment programs/activities are offered?

Seasonal soccer and basketball programs are offered for our Preschool aged students.
