Heritage Village Museum in Sharonville turns into the Haunted Village every October. It’s a family-friendly, slight-fright Halloween event set in a 19th-century village inside Sharon Woods. Haunted Village runs Oct. 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24 from 6 to 10 p.m. Kids trick-or-treat their way past ghosts, witches and monsters, and the scares stay gentle enough that younger siblings can come along.
Haunted Village dates, hours and tickets
- Dates: Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24
- Hours: 6 to 10 p.m. No admission after 9 p.m.
- Admission: $15 per person. Kids under 2 and Heritage Village Museum members get in free.
- Parking: A Great Parks motor vehicle permit is required to enter Sharon Woods.

The doors close at 9 p.m., an hour before the event ends, so aim to arrive by 8 p.m. to get through the whole village. Costumes are welcome.
If you’ll be back for other events this year, a membership may pay for itself. A Heritage Village family membership is $85, covers two adults and four children and includes free admission to the museum’s special events, Haunted Village included.
Trick-or-treating, a carnival haunted house and Poe by lantern light
Trick-or-treating is the main event. Kids work their way through the historic buildings collecting candy from ghosts, witches, monsters and a fortune teller. There are also games, balloon animals and a haunted house.

- A carnival-themed haunted house
- Edgar Allan Poe storytelling
- A temporary tattoo parlor
- A Halloween party in the village schoolhouse
- A special experience at Benedict Cottage
Vendors Gaia’s Radiant Gems and Let’s Glow Crazy will be on site, so bring a little extra if your kids can’t walk past anything that glows. Activities can change depending on how many volunteers turn out each night.

Getting to Haunted Village at Sharon Woods
Heritage Village Museum is inside Sharon Woods Park at 11500 Lebanon Road (Route 42) in Sharonville. Every car entering the park needs a Great Parks motor vehicle permit. A daily permit is $5 and an annual permit is $10 for Hamilton County residents. You can buy one ahead of time from the Great Parks motor vehicle permit page.

About Heritage Village Museum
Heritage Village Museum and Educational Center is a living history museum about everyday life in Southwest Ohio during the 1800s. The homes, outbuildings and equipment were moved here from around the region to preserve them. During the regular season, interpreters demonstrate spinning, weaving, candle-dipping, soap making and hearth cooking.
The museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. No tax dollars fund its buildings, staff or operations, so it runs on admissions, grants and donations. Your Haunted Village ticket goes toward keeping the historic buildings standing.
