Holiday Shopping at Once Upon a Child

Each year, around December 23rd, I find myself staring into my children’s closets, quickly realizing they have absolutely nothing to wear for Christmas. I know it’s coming, but I guess between the shopping, wrapping, cooking and normal everyday life, it drops to the bottom of the list. But this year, I was happy to plan ahead for a few of the holiday events we have and make sure the kids would be well dressed  Once Upon a Child was the perfect stop to accomplish my mission.

I’d visited Once Upon a Child several times to both shop and drop off some of our toys, clothes, etc. But, I’ve never thought about shopping for a special occasion – and I’m not sure why! It’s actually the perfect place for holiday outfits! They had a surprising selection for both girls and boys (in many sizes!), a variety of styles and the price point can’t be beat. Let’s be honest: I’m not a big fan of spending a lot of money on an outfit that my kids will probably wear… once. In fact, I try to be as frugal as possible when buying clothes for my toddlers because they just grow so fast!

Back to the shopping… my daughter dove right in and pulled an adorable snowman dress off the rack and I grabbed another fancier option.  My son is most comfortable in sweat pants and t-shirts, so I stuck to a simple button down and sweater for him. I also couldn’t help but peruse the pajamas and found some cozy, festive options for both kids. We headed into the dressing room (yes, they have them!) and emerged transformed in their holiday best. My daughter didn’t want to take hers off and we had to do some size exchanging for my son, which was easy to do with the selection.

As we walked around the store, I couldn’t help but think of how great it would be to knock out some Christmas shopping while I was there. The kids had other plans, but I may just have to head back there! In fact, on Black Friday they are having a BIG sale – 40% off just about everything! With a great selection of toys, books, clothing, and more, you could check a lot off of your list in one stop!

Once Upon a Child is such a great option for shopping for all of your children’s needs. During most of our visits, this one included, I always bring clothing and toys that we are finished with and let them take a look while we shop. By the time we’re done, they usually have a dollar amount ready for some of my items and I often end up spending very little, if anything at all!

As you think ahead to your family festivities that are just a few short weeks away, check out Once Upon a Child and take one thing off of your list, so you can focus on all of the fun this season brings!
