It does not matter if you are brand new to home educating your children or if you are a seasoned parent on the journey, a big topic of conversation is whether or not you will put your children in a co-op, and whether or not they are necessary.
A co-op is a group of homeschooling families that get together on a regular basis for social interaction, education, or some blend of both.
Some are larger, and some are on the smaller side. In Kentucky, they are not a requirement to home educate your children, but there are many benefits to joining one if that is what you choose to do.
Finding a co-op for your family takes planning and intentionality. Sometimes what sounds like a great fit on paper really might not be where your family should land, or maybe it is a great fit, but just not in the season of life that you are in.
Note: this list is not exhaustive, but is meant to give you a starting point. Some co-ops may not be accepting new members until spring if registration is closed for the current school year.
