Land of Make Believe is a hidden gem in Cincinnati.
Located within Lunken Playfield, Land of Make Believe (website) is a gigantic, nicely shaded, mega-playground that will have your kids content for hours.
In my opinion, Land of Make Believe is one of the most unique playgrounds in Cincinnati. In addition to its cool location by Lunken Airport (the airplanes… they’re so close!), this playground is pure fun for kids of all ages. The main structure is huge — boasting five slides (six, if you count the double slide), and full of little nooks and fun features to keep kids completely engaged for quite awhile.

There are several other play structures at Land of Make Believe — some geared especially toward toddlers — plus swings for kids of all ages. I have a complicated relationship with swings; sometimes it feels like that’s all my kids want to do at a playground, when I’d rather they run around and explore. Land of Make Believe definitely encourages exploring; there’s so much to see and do, my kids didn’t pause the entire time!
In fact, your kids will definitely get a workout at Land of Make Believe: there are several different types of monkey bars, hanging swings, spinning things, miniature zip lines and even old-school style games to test kids’ strength and skill!
The good news is, the entire playground is fenced in, so you feel good about your kids running wild. And, the ground is covered with that awesome, soft playground turf, minimizing the chances of kids taking a rough fall.
Admission to Land of Make Believe is just $1 for kids 2-12, and there are several large picnic areas where you can set up camp for an afternoon. True to its name, Land of Make Believe is a wondrous place for kids to explore and imagine, a true Cincinnati hidden gem you need to visit!
