Milford’s Splash Fountain Reopens After Safety Repairs
The splash fountain at Five Points Landing Park in Milford is running again after the city closed it earlier this month to fix a slippery surface. The fountain reopened at noon on Wednesday, July 1, following complaints that children had fallen while using it.
Five Points Landing Park is at 527 Lila Avenue in Milford, about 20 minutes east of downtown Cincinnati in Clermont County. The fountain first opened at the end of May, so the closure came just weeks into its first season.
What Happened
City officials received reports that the fountain’s surface was too slippery and that children had fallen while playing on it, according to Local 12. The city closed the fountain so crews could repair the surface before letting families back in. How the Fountain Works
The splash fountain is sensor-activated rather than running on a timer or button. Water runs daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. From 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., the water shuts off and the fountain switches to a lit display for the evening.
There’s no admission charge to use the fountain.
