The area’s Center for Jewish Life is welcoming all Jewish kids, ages 6-12, to join CKids in Action, the first Jewish Kids Club in the Mason area. A kickoff event, titled “The Sweet Shoppe”, will take place Sunday, Sept. 10, 3-5 pm, at the Jewish Discovery Center, 7587 Central Parke Blvd., Mason. Kids and their parents will get a glimpse of what CKids in Action is about.
CKids in Action is being launched by the Jewish Discovery Center in Mason to make Judaism relevant and appealing to Jewish children through hands-on fun, community projects and character building activities. The new club will feature exciting activities such as Robotics, Martial Arts, Science, Cooking, and Sports.
“Our goal is to make Judaism relevant and exciting,” said Rabbi Buzzy, Director of Family Programming at the center. “We are excited to offer this revolutionary club to kids in our area.”
The Sweet Shoppe event will help prepare for Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year, with carnival-style booths emphasizing the sweetness of a new year. Kids will have fun crafting and designing holiday sweets and treats to start off the new year right. Activities include crafting gourmet honey sticks, honey taffy pops, apples-n’-honey lip balm, and a delectable honey Challah dish. A hot dog picnic lunch will be served, along with popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones. The event will feature a dual lane 36 ft. obstacle course moon bounce and lots of fun!
The Sweet Shoppe event is free with reservations received by Sept. 3. $10 per child afterwards. Reserve at JDiscovery.com/CKids
CKids in Actions will meet on a Sunday each month, beginning in September.
