Out with “True Confessions,” in with, “A Dad Influence.”

True Confessions of a Stay-at-Home Dad started on a whim. It basically began with the idea of collecting stories and pictures of what I was spending my days doing with our kids so a few relatives could follow along. Seriously, that was my goal, an audience of ten. The idea that I would still write my blog three years later (and now for Cincinnati Parent), seemed improbable, at best.

At the time, not much thought was given to the title True Confessions of a Stay-at-Home Dad. But, in the past three years, I’ve noticed many “True Confessions” blogs, and other similarly titled blogs to mine. Some had been around longer than mine, some are fairly new, but there are plenty of them out there.

Also, as my kids get older and spend more time in school, I feel like more and more of my stories are less about being a stay at home dad and more about adventures out with my growing kids. The days of cloth diapers and breast milk are gone, but they’ve been replaced with bigger kid situations like: changing schools, when should a kid be allowed a smartphone, and how parents balance after school activities and clubs with their own sanity.

Cincinnati Parent completely redesigned their website and, if I was planning to ever make a change, now seemed like as good of a time as any.

No worries, the content will still be much of the same. Blonde Bomber, Middle Man and First Born will still be a the center of our (mis)adventures. My spelling and grammar will still be atrocious. Behind the new blog title and new site is the same old type of blog; hopefully you like all the new changes.

Right now, we’re still working out some of the kinks, but over time, the new blog will be easier to navigate, easier to find older posts, more comment friendly and more sharable than ever. Eventually, if you wish to subscribe to my blog via email that will be an option as well.

With all that being said, welcome to…

A Dad Influence- A blog about dads and the positive influence they have in the lives of their kids.
