What is Rockwern Academy’s age/grade range?
Our Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) accepts toddlers (children who are 12 months old by September 30) through pre-kindergartners. Our elementary school welcomes students from kindergarten through sixth grade.
What is your enrollment policy? Are there any key dates parents should be aware of?
Students do not have to identify as Jewish to attend our Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). Application dates are available to view at https://www.rockwernacademy.org/apply. Applicants are encouraged to apply by the end of February, however we do accept students on a rolling basis. Please contact us at any time of the year if you are interested in learning more about Rockwern, and we will let you know if there is availability in your child’s grade level.Â

Do you offer financial assistance?
Yes! Our goal is to welcome and support a diverse group of students, including those who would not otherwise be able to attend Rockwern. You can learn more about our various tuition assistance programs and apply online.
What are the standard school day hours?
We provide early care starting at 7:00 AM each day and after care until 6:00 PM on Mondays-Thursdays and 5:00 PM on Fridays. Students who do not need early care or after care arrive between 7:45-8:15 AM and are dismissed at 12:15 in our half day program and 3:15 (ECEC only), 3:30 (ECEC and K-6), or 3:45 (K-6 only) in our full day program. While there are five days/week offerings for all ages, there are also three days/week options for many of our ECEC programs.
Does Rockwern Academy offer before/after school care? Does Rockwern Academy offer afterschool activities?
Yes, before care is available at 7:00 AM and after care is available until 6:00 PM Mondays-Thursdays and until 5:00 PM on Fridays. In addition, we offer many after school activities such as basketball, volleyball, art, media club, and LEGO robotics.
Does Rockwern Academy offer support for students with special needs?
Yes. We have a speech-language pathologist, school psychologist, school counselor, reading support teachers, intervention specialist, and ELL support in our building who work primarily with our K-6 students. We also provide tutoring and enrichment for our students in small groups or individually. In addition, are a satellite location for COTI which provides occupational therapy for our ECEC and K-6 students in our buidling and for Jewish Family Service which provides mental health counseling services for our students. . We get to know our students deeply on a personal level, providing them with the tools they need to succeed in a nurturing, differentiated learning environment.
What specialty classes / extracurricular activities does Rockwern Academy offer (gym, art, language, sports etc.)?
Our art and music curriculum is integrated into all we do at Rockwern! Students perform in musicals and art shows. We have a robust physical education program as well as after school sports such as basketball, soccer, and volleyball. All students learn a second language, Hebrew.
