This year’s 11th annual Museum Day Live takes place in 12 different museums throughout Ohio on September 26th! This exciting event uses thousands photographs to simulate certain points in history. The artists will range from famous people like Norman Rockwell to unknown local artists. Technology also plays a large role this year, as many exhibits include interactive experiences. Exhibits differ at every location because they display genuine artifacts and artwork. While much of the event is relative to Ohio and her history, some of it will be dedicated to local and contemporary artwork. The Museum Day Live will present the many artifacts imported from all around the world. In addition to the technology, theatrical elements will help in portraying the stories behind the exhibits.
Tickets are free and will be available online , but a ticket is only good for one person and one guest. Tickets can be redeemed online beginning August 1st, and must be printed or available on a smartphone. Some museums will be free for all throughout the duration of the event and marked accordingly. Of course, the whole family can come. The two people still get in free with the ticket and the rest of the family must pay full museum admission ( admission depends on museum). The Smithsonian Magazine encourages families to come, as it is an unique event that displays information in a fun way!
