Tea (and more!) at The BonBonerie

In the heart of O’Bryonville, there is a very enchanting patisserie, café and tearoom, The BonBonerie. Famous for delicious baked goods, café staples and beautifully decorated wedding cakes, The BonBonerie also creates magical memories by hosting special occasions. Whether you’re looking for a night out, planning a birthday party, attending a cooking class or just stopping by for dessert, you’ll find tea (and more!) at The BonBonerie.

Most recently, my daughter and I (along with another awesome mother/daughter duo) attended the Alice in Wonderland Tea. This was the very first tea hosted by The BonBonerie and The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati to celebrate the upcoming Children’s Theatre production of Alice in Wonderland. Our afternoon tea began with of course, tea (The BonBonerie Blend is my favorite, featuring subtle hints of vanilla) and a beautiful three-tiered stand with an assortment of finger sandwiches, quiche, fruit, desserts, scones and cookies. While enjoying our tea in the café, we were visited by Alice, The White Rabbit and The Mad Hatter; and we were delighted by their conversation, photos ops and songs.

After we ate, we must not be late for storytelling time. Alice read us her story while the White Rabbit and Mad Hatter heckled each other and bantered with the crowd. Such fun was had by all; and The Children’s Theatre and The BonBonerie hope to collaborate again for future productions (see Events Calendar). Alice in Wonderland runs October 15-23 at the Taft Theatre; and the hour-long show is ideal for children 4 and up.

Also, The BonBonerie is hosting many fall/winter family decorating classes. On October 22th, have a ghoulishly good time by decorating your own spooky haunted house. However, if you are in the holiday spirit, the Gingerbread House class on November 26th or December 3rd and 4th may be more to your liking as you assemble and decorate this yuletide tradition. And if you just need an adult night out, enjoy an evening at a monthly wine and dessert pairings event. These events sell out fast; sign up today!

But I cannot end without expressing how wonderful and special The BonBonerie makes birthday parties. For my daughter’s 6th birthday, we held a Pinkalicious tea in their tearoom. The little ladies were awed by pouring their own Strawberry-Kiwi tea (it’s pink), dining from three-tiered stands and decorating their own cupcakes. Plus, special Pinkalicious cookies completed the birthday theme. I have a little time before my 40th birthday and a tea with friends sounds fabulous!
