Golden Days of Yule: Trains at Krohn Conservatory

All aboard! The Golden Days of Yule Trains has left the station at Krohn Conservatory and departed down several Cincinnati-themed tracks. Opening daily on November 11, the wooden display takes families on a locomotive adventure through city hot spots, many recognizable by our little ones.

Golden Days of Yule chugs along November 11th through January 7th, 2024.

Tickets are available at the door; $10 adults, $7 youth, free under age 4.

The annual show presented by ScherZinger Pest Control features gorgeous Winter blooms, a waterfall, two stories of train tracks, twinkling stars, shimmering lights and all of our favorite Queen City treasures.

Featured in the seasonal floral showroom, Golden Days of Yule is one of five seasonal shows to grace Krohn Conservatory. The showroom is home to a collection of permanent lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit and kumquat trees. At the end of each October, the volunteers and staff at the conservatory begin the transformation of hand-built wooden railways, several poinsettia varieties, variegated plants and sparkling holiday lights.

Take your kids through a Cincinnati treasure hunt of popular buildings and places. Trains bustle around hefty replicas of Findlay Market, Union Terminal, the Great American Insurance building, Mt. Adams incline, Fountain Square and many of the city’s beautiful-architecture churches.

Extend your conservatory tour beyond Golden Days of Yule, and travel through five adjacent floral rooms, included in your daily admission. Desert succulents, orchids, astonishing bonsai forests, an immersive tropical rainforest and fern house stimulates the senses. With sights high and low, sometimes crossing through hanging plants, there’s twists and turns of thousands of plant varieties throughout the 1933 Art Deco conservatory.

Photo-ops galore, both inside and out. Journey through the outside winter gardens and holiday displays. A trail of Christmas props include life-size nutcrackers, a Santa giraffe, penguins, hippos, lollipops, elves, evergreen gnome men and a huge sleigh full of gifts. Crib of the Nativity opens outdoors on December 8th, bringing real animals and figures in handmade garments, aiding in the realism of Jesus’ birth.
