Looking for a unique activity to do with your children or for a night out with your girlfriends or couples? Or the perfect holiday centerpiece? Then try a DIY Farm to Vase Workshop at Two Little Buds Florist. This unique floral design boutique in Hamilton is the place to let your creativity run wild.
Two Little Buds Florist offers the best farm-fresh, local florals for each season. There are two locations – Hamilton and OTR – and each are beautiful, inspiring spaces. The DIY classes make it easy to custom-create your own beautiful displays.
Recently, my daughter and I spent a morning arranging our own farm-to-vase floral arrangements. On a beautiful fall day, we arrived at the charming space in Downtown Hamilton (a quaint little town that looks like it’s straight out of a Hallmark movie!) and were warmly greeted by Two Little Buds owner Mindy Staton.
After reviewing our floral design options, my daughter decided to create fall floral arrangement jar. Then we sat at the worktable with materials (sheers, mason jars and filler greens) for designing our arrangements. Mindy gave a demonstration of our project including a few tips including: filling the jars first with greenery, cutting flower stems at an angle and removing leaves from flower stems to prevent spreading bacteria. We learned so much!
To begin, we had the pick of gorgeous flowers to use in our arrangements. That was the most difficult decision — with so many vibrant colors, wonderful aromas and beautiful species of flowers at Two Little Buds Florist it was difficult to pick! I went with different shades of purple that included roses and other simple flowers, while my daughter picked florals of creams and deep auburns.Â
Then we started creating our own designs as demonstrated by Mindy. We paid careful attention to height, color combinations and mixing of flowers. My daughter was very serious about her creation, and her final product blew me away. It was so gorgeous… no one would have ever thought a tween created this floral masterpiece. (And mine wasn’t so bad either…)Â
I loved spending a morning creating floral arrangements with my daughter, and I can’t wait to return for a Two Little Buds Florist DIY Farm to Vase Workshop. (The holidays are coming up, and these floral arrangements would make for the perfect centerpiece!)
